Adaptive Shooting Sports Program

This opportunity is for people who have experienced a spinal cord injury/disorder, amputation/limb loss, or have a mobility impairment.

APPLE VALLEY GUN CLUB is committed to serving the disabled community through Adaptive Shooting Sports Program and classes. Check the AVGC calendar for future events at www.applevalleygunclub.com or at www.avgc.eventbrite.com

This event was created for people who have experienced spinal cord injury/disorder, amputee/limb-loss, and mobility impairments, providing the opportunity to enjoy the shooting sports.

If you do not qualify to participate in this program you will automatically be refunded. AVGC has many other classes and events that you can participate in.

$40 event fee per participant. Includes one to one instruction by Certified Firearms Instructors & coaches, firearms, ammunition, eye & ear protection, and lunch. You will learn safe gun handling skills & the fundamentals of shooting. Regardless of your physical limitations you will have the opportunity to shoot a variety of firearms while using adaptive equipment and techniques as needed. The focus is not on any disability, but the abilities of challenged athletes. This event will be held at the OUTDOOR Pistol Range.

NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO) Class

This NRA course teaches the basic duties a Range Safety Officer performs.

This class provides a thorough introduction to: the role of Range Safety Officers (RSOs) including:

  • Range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Range Safety Briefings
  • Range inspections and rules
  • Emergency procedures
  • How to clear firearm stoppages and correct malfunctions

*Minimum age for an NRA Certified Range Safety Officer is 21 years old

NO FIREARMS OR AMMUNITION ARE ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM. THIS INCLUDES CCW and LEO. NO EXCEPTIONS! Leave your firearm and ammunition secured in your locked vehicle.

NRA CCW Class – 16 hour course given over 2 days 08/08/26 & 08/09/26

NRA CCW Class –  16 hour, 2 day course 8am to 5pm
You MUST attend BOTH DAYS

This is a two day class. You must attend both days.

This class teaches the skills, knowledge and attitude necessary to carry a concealed firearm for personal defense.

Students will receive reference books, and at successful completion of the class will receive a course completion certificate.

  • Eye & Ear Protection (We recommend electronic hearing protection)
  • Gun Belt
  • Strong Side Holster* We recommend a kydex type holster. It must completely cover the trigger guard. Do not bring a flimsy nylon holster! Your holster must not collapse on itself.
  • Mag pouches
  • small flashlight
  • A cover garment (shirt/vest/jacket that conceals your firearm)
  • Highlighter, pen, pencil and paper for note taking

Attire

  • Closed toed shoes are required

Lunch

Bring a sack lunch. There is not time to leave during lunch. We have bottled water available. Sodas and snacks are available for $1.00 each. We have a microwave oven available in the classroom.

You do not need to be a member to take a class at Apple Valley Gun Club.

  • The Primary causes of firearm accidents
  • The rules for safe gun handling

This is a non-shooting class. We will be providing all the firearms for the class.
