NRA Personal Protection Outside The Home -2 Day class 11/07/26 & 11/08/26

This is a 2-Day class. You must attend both days 11/07/26 12:00pm – 8:00pm & 11/08/26 12:00pm-8:00pm
You must attend BOTH days

This 2-day, course develops the knowledge, skills and attitude essential for avoiding dangerous confrontations and for the safe, effective and responsible use of a concealed pistol for self-defense outside the home.

This class is taught by NRA Certified Instructors and an attorney licensed to practice in the state of California.

What you will learn:

  • The essential knowledge and skills that must be mastered in order to carry, store and use a firearm safety and effectively for personal protection outside the home.
  • Advanced shooting skills

You will receive:

  • Basics of Personal Protection Outside the Home handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules card, and NRA Qualification Booklet.

Required Equipment:

  • Handgun
  • 250 Rounds of factory new ammunition (No re-loads or steel core)
  • 3 magazines or speed-loaders
  • Quality Belt & holster (No flimsy holsters are allowed. Your holster must not collapse on itself)
  • Eye & Ear protection (Electronic hearing protection is recommended)
  • Magazine pouch or ability to carry extra magazines on your body
  • Cover garment (jacket, vest, shirt, etc)
  • Momentary flashlight that can be operated with one hand
  • Pencil, pen, highlighter and note pad

Optional Equipment

  • Maglula or Uplula

BRING A SACK LUNCH. There is not time to leave during lunch. We have bottled water available. Sodas and snacks are available for $1.00 each. We have a microwave oven available in the classroom.

Prerequisite for this course:

  • Completion of The NRA Inside the Home Personal Protection Course.
  • OR, Successfully complete a Pre-Course evaluation prior to the class with the instructor .

NO FIREARMS OR AMMUNITION ARE ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM. THIS INCLUDES CCW and LEO. NO EXCEPTIONS! Leave your firearm and ammunition secured in your locked vehicle until an Instructor directs you to retrieve it.

NRA Basics of Rifle Shooting Class

This class includes classroom and range time with a rifle

The goal of NRA’S Basics of Rifle Shooting is to develop the knowledge, skills and attitude for owning and operating a rifle safely.

You Will Learn

You will learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling, rifle parts and operation, ammunition, shooting fundamentals, range rules, shooting from different positions, and cleaning and proper storage of your rifle.

Students will receive the NRA Basics of Rifle Shooting book, NRA Safety Rules card, and the NRA Marksmanship booklet.

Upon successful completion, students will receive an NRA Basics Of Rifle Shooting certificate.

What to Bring

  • A Rifle
  • A minimum of 100 rounds of factory new ammunition for your rifle, (No reloads or steel core)
  • Eye & Ear Protection (Electronic preferred)
  • Pencil, Pen, Highlighter, Note pad

Attire

  • Closed toe shoes are required
  • No scoop neck or V-neck shirts allowed. A crew neck t-shirt is ideal.
  • A baseball style hat

Lunch

The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting is a course conducted in the classroom and on the range under the guidance and supervision of certified NRA instructors.

The course is intended for all regardless of previous shooting experience. The goal of the course is to teach the basic knowledge, skills and attitude for owning and operating a pistol safely.

Topics include: safe gun handling and storage; ammunition knowledge; fundamentals of pistol shooting; selecting; purchasing; and maintaining a pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development.

On the range, you will learn range protocol; proper handling; loading and unloading procedures; application of pistol shooting fundamentals; shooting positions

Students receive the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules card, and the NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet.

Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a NRA Basics Of Pistol Shooting certificate.

  • 200 Rounds of Factory New Ammunition (No Reloads or Steel Core)

NRA Refuse To Be A Victim seminar teaches the basic knowledge, skill, and attitude for developing a strategy for one’s personal safety.

NRA Refuse To Be A Victim seminar teaches the basic knowledge, skill, and attitude for developing a strategy for one’s personal safety.  The seminar includes classroom instruction on a variety of crime prevention strategies, from crime psychology to automobile crimes to cyber crime.  And what you, as an individual, can do to prevent becoming a victim of a crime.  This is not a firearms instruction course, and does not include instruction in physical combat self-defense.  This seminar is planned for four hours, but may go over to due to attendee participation.  Students will receive NRA Refuse To Be A Victim booklet and a course completion certificate.

NRA Personal Protection Inside The Home Shooting Class

Learn the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and the individual’s rights to self defense.

This class teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and to provide information on the law-abiding individual’s right to self-defense.

This is an eight-hour course. Students should expect to shoot approximately 150 rounds of ammunition. Students will learn basic defensive shooting skills, strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation, firearms and the law, how to choose a handgun for self-defense, and continued opportunities for skill development.

Lesson III of this course: Firearms and the Law, and Legal Aspects of Self-Defense, is conducted by an attorney licensed to practice law within the state of California.

Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Personal Protection In The Home handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure and the NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet.

Upon successful completion, a course certificate will be issued

This class is taught by NRA Certified Instructors and an Attorney licensed to practice in the state of California.

Prerequisite

Prospective participants can demonstrate that they have the requisite knowledge, skills, and attitudes by producing an NRA Basic Pistol Course Certificate, NRA FIRST Steps Course Certificate, NRA pistol competitive shooting qualification card, military DD 214 with pistol qualification, or passing the Pre-Course Assessment with the instructor prior to the class.
