Personal DefensE and Carry

Personal Defensive Carry Match Apple Valley Gun Club

Personal Defense and Carry (PD&C) is an excellent match for CCW holders to practice drawing from concealment with their everyday carry gun. You may use an IWB or OWB holster (at the discretion of the match director). We loosely follow IDPA match rules with the focus on best use of cover, target assessment, tactical engagement and accuracy. The primary objective is always safety. You will shoot from behind or around barriers and from various shooting positions. Targets include paper and steel, some static, some moving and some reactionary.

Stages are set up on Pistol Bays 1 and 2, with a mixture of paper and steel targets, that reward accuracy and speed. Scoring is based on a combination of time, knocking down steel, use of cover, and scores on paper. All paper targets are normally shot twice, but may vary, and all steel targets must be knocked down.

Personal Defense and Carry is conducted under Apple Valley Gun Club Rules and is a defensive centerfire pistol or revolver event.

Minimum round count varies depending on the number of stages and how they are configured but with a maximum of 150 rounds.
