Junior trap shooting is held Wednesday nights at 6:00 pm at the Lower Trap Range.

Junior trap is open to youth up to age 18.  Beginner to expert skill levels are welcome.  Coaching is available for all levels.

What to Bring

• $2.00 per round (Average is 2 rounds – $4.00)
• Ammunition – 12 gauge or 20 gauge Target Load Shotgun Shells  (2 boxes of 25 shells – 50 shells)
• Personal Shotguns can be used or shotguns are available to use on first com first serve basis if a personal shotgun is not brought.

What to Expect

Fundamentals of Trap Shooting are taught in a safe environment by experienced coaches

For younger shooters – Proper handling of the shotgun is expected

Parents are not allowed on the line while children are shooting

The last Wednesday night of the month is “game night” – shooters participate in games and drills which sharpen the shooters skills of accuracy and speed.

Parents Must Accompany Minors on the Range at all times. Dropping off and picking up is NOT ALLOWED.

Outside Competition

The Junior Trap Program is a participant in the “5 Star Junior Trap Series Competition” – with the AVGC Junior Trap Program being 1 of 8 clubs hosting one competition shoot a month (November through July).
