Junior Rifle Program
Parents Must Accompany Minors on the Range at all times. Dropping off and picking up is NOT ALLOWED.
The Junior Rifle Program is open to youth ages 8 to 18 years old. This program will teach organized rifle shooting, with a view toward safe gun handling, use and care of firearms, as well as marksmanship.
- All Participants must attend an Orientation before participating in The Junior Rifle Program. NO Exceptions.
- All participants are required to wear approved eye and ear protection. For added safety, a ball cap is recommended to be worn on the firing line.
- All participants are required to wear closed toe shoes. No scoop or low-cut shirts will be allowed. A regular tee shirt is recommended. This is for safety.
- Approved eye and ear protection must be worn by participants and spectators.
Cost
There is a $25 annual fee for participation. This covers all ammunition, rifle usage, awards, eye and ear protection. There is a $3.00 per night range fee.
We will provide .22cal firearms and ammunition or you may bring your own .22cal rifle that has not been modified in anyway. If bringing your own rifle, only bolt action type will be allowed.
The Junior Rifle Program will use the Winchester NRA Program which is a skill development program. The participants will get the Rifle Discipline Patch when they start the program. As each rating is earned, they will receive a skill rocker, medal, pin and certificate recognizing their achievement. Progression is self-paced with an emphasis on marksmanship rather than speed.
There will be Coaches available and Range Safety Officers on the firing line at all times.
